FAQ
Frequently asked questions

  • Choosing a work of art is a very personal matter. It is naturally easier to choose a painting for your own space and needs than as a gift. If you know the recipient, their interior design, and their favorite colors, a carefully selected gift is sure to delight them. If, on the other hand, you are unsure of the recipient's preferences and colors, you can resort to a gift card and let the recipient choose their own painting. See Gift card.

    • Consider where the artwork will be placed: at home, at the cottage, at work, in a public space, in the living room, bedroom, kitchen, etc.

    • What is the existing interior design of the space like? This will determine what type of a picture is suitable for the space. Of course, the interior design can also be planned based on the artwork, specifically to match the style and colors of the image.

    • What colors exist in that room? Any color will go with white walls, but what other colors are present in the room? The colors in the picture could echo those colors.

    • For single-color walls, you can choose colors that match the wall color or colors that clearly stand out from it, such as complementary colors, depending on the atmosphere you want to create.

    • Walls covered with colorful wallpaper usually work well with images that at least partially match the color of the wallpaper or are black and white.

    • Cool colors can bring a pleasant coolness to a hot kitchen, and warm colors can bring a pleasant warmth to a bedroom. Of course, the opposite is also true if you want to emphasize the warmth of your kitchen or like to sleep in a cooler room.

    • Which product is suitable for damp areas?
For example, Silisec® panels are best suited for kitchens, bathrooms, or unheated summer cottages. Silisec® print, as it is easy to clean grease stains from it and it is more resistant to moisture. The impressive Silisec® is naturally also suitable for other rooms too.

    • What would suit a classic interior?
An oak veneer coated aluminum frame would look great in an old log cabin, for example. This so called Aluwood-framed picture (also available in black) would go well with classic interior design. You can always buy just the print and frame it in a decorative frame and museum-quality glass. On the other hand, a glossy Silicec® would bring an exciting contrast to the space.

  • Choosing the subject for your painting is the fun part! For those inspired by nature, Taskurapu Shop offers a range of options from landscapes to plants and animals. For those who appreciate personality and boldness, there are also several other themes available, from rusty ship wrecks to weathered concrete. Explore the selection and find the right piece to create the atmosphere you desire!

  • Warm colors are colors that lean toward yellow, orange, and red, while blue and green colors are cool. For example, purple can be warm or cool depending on whether it has more red or blue in it. Primary colors, such as red, can also be warm or cool depending on the degree of blue in them.

Different colors affect us in different ways. A little more about that Rays of Color set/series of images .

Below is a simple color wheel that illustrates the properties of colors. More on that below the color wheel.

A circular diagram depicting basic and intermediate colors, with six color sectors: red, purple, blue, green, yellow, and orange. The text clarifies the parts of the sectors: Pastel shades, Cool colors, Broken shades, Warm colors.
  • To put it simply: harmonious combinations are adjacent colors and different shades of the same color. Contrasting combinations, on the other hand, are combinations of complementary colors and different shades of different colors. Combining very different colors and shades requires a keen eye. Black and pure white go well with all colors.

The primary colors of color pigments are red, yellow, and blue. They cannot be mixed from other colors, but mixing two of them produces intermediate colors: orange, green, and purple.

If these colors are placed in a circle (like above) so that the main color and the intermediate color formed from them are in adjacent segments, the order is: red, purple, blue, green, yellow, and orange. The opposite segments of the circle then contain the complementary color of each color. The complementary color of red is green, the complementary color of orange is blue, and the complementary color of yellow is violet.

When white is mixed with a color, pastel shades are created. Mixing black or its complementary color creates muted shades, such as different shades of brown. The closer the colors and shades are to each other, the more peaceful and subtle the combination will be, and the more different the colors are, the more striking the combination will be. Many different combinations can work well. Try combining different colors using color swatches cut from magazines, advertising mail, etc. This will help you create your own favorite color palette, which will make it easier to decorate your home and choose pictures.
