Far out at sea, the water is clear, and you can see the seabed from a depth of several meters. The rippling surface of the sea reflects the boathouse, which is bathed in the warmth of the low sun. The waves create works of art, each one unique. The rocks and shells on the seabed seem to dance with the waves, sweeping me along with them into the archipelago summer.

HOME SHORES – Pictures from the Finnish coast

My oldest, eternal love is the sea that laps at the shores of my homeland. I have been photographing it since I was a child, spending my summers in the Iniö archipelago. I have accumulated photos from several decades. I have also published two books about it: Kuohu – koukussa saaristoon (The Surge – Hooked on the Archipelago) and Meri, joka jalkojani huuhtelee (The Sea That Rinses My Feet).
