Line Markers

starting at €90.00

For years, people have sailed the seas, following buoys, beacons, markers, and lines. A pair of line markers indicates the exact location of the fairway. The lower line marker is closer when viewed from the fairway, and the upper one is further away. When the line markers overlap, the vessel is traveling along the center line of the channel. The line markers stand out from the terrain in daylight with their strong contrasting colors. At night, the illuminated line markers have a calming effect on those traveling on the dark sea.

HOME SHORES – Pictures from the Finnish coast

My oldest, eternal love is the sea that laps at the shores of my homeland. I have been photographing it since I was a child, spending my summers in the Iniö archipelago. I have accumulated photos from several decades. I have also published two books about it: Kuohu – koukussa saaristoon (The Surge – Hooked on the Archipelago) and Meri, joka jalkojani huuhtelee (The Sea That Rinses My Feet). You can inquire about them by the Contact us page. In this set of images, I have compiled some of the most memorable shots from my home shores over the years.
