Okshornan

starting at €90.00

This “bull’s horn” or simply “the bull,” Oksen, is a famous mountain range on the island of Senja in Norway. The range is also known as the Devil’s Jaw or Devil’s Teeth, but the names have no historical basis. The highest of the mountains, Store Okshornet, is 559 meters tall, and the third one has a hole in it. A tragic love triangle is told about it: Kjølvamannen from the neighboring mountain range did not want to give up on Torskenkjærringa, whom he was courting, so he shot his rival with an arrow, which then slipped into that third, completely unrelated peak. Okshornet looks magnificent from the Senja scenic route at Tungeneset.

BY THE SEA – Photographs from the water's edge around the world

Standing on the shore, it feels as though the sea separates us. But when you step onto the boat, the sea brings us together. The thought that the waves washing over my feet on my home shore could carry me around the world is enchanting. From my home pier, I can reach the Atlantic, the Arctic Ocean, the Mediterranean, and the tiny islands of the Pacific. Even though hiking in the mountains is wonderful, it’s only by the sea that one finally finds peace. It’s strange how the sea feels like home even on the opposite shore. The seas are woven from the same foam and salt spray.

The images in this series can be ordered with or without a white border and stylish info text.
