Okshornan

starting at €90.00

This “bull’s horn”—or simply “the bull,” Oksen—is a famous mountain ridge on the island of Senja in Norway. The ridge is also known as the Devil’s Jaw or the Devil’s Teeth, but the names have no historical basis. The highest of the peaks, Store Okshornet, is 559 meters high, and the third peak has a hole in it. A tragic love triangle is told about it: Kjølvamannen from the neighboring mountain range did not want to give up on Torskenkjærringa, whom he was courting, so he shot his rival with an arrow, which then slipped into that third, completely unrelated peak. Okshornet looks magnificent from the Senja scenic route at Tungeneset.

BY THE SEA – Photographs from the water's edge around the world

Vaikka vaikkapa vuorilla vaeltaminen on upeaa, vasta meren äärellä lopulta rauhoittuu. Kummallista, miten meri tuntuu kotoisalta siellä vastarannallakin. Meret on punottu samasta vaahdosta ja suolapärskeistä.
