Buoys´ Hibernation

starting at €90.00

I photographed the buoys at Jurmo Harbor during a legendary trip in February 2011. The harbor was so frozen over that the ferry couldn't get anywhere near it. Our group had to walk to the island across the ice in pitch darkness. At that time, the archipelago presented a true old-fashioned winter with is frozen landscapes, snowstorms, and blizzards. Those buoys had to wait for spring in the icy embarace for a few more months more.

HOME SHORES – Pictures from the Finnish coast

My oldest, everlasting love is the sea that laps against the shores of my homeland. I have been photographing it ever since I was a child, spending my summers in the Iniö archipelago. I have accumulated photos spanning several decades. I have also published two books on the subject: *Kuohu – Hooked on the Archipelago* and *The Sea That Washes My Feet*. Please contact me for more information about them. In this series, I have compiled some of the most memorable shots from my home shores over the years.
